Spring Letter from the Principal

Dear All,

As we move further into the spring term, I’d like to take a moment to share some of the wonderful things happening at school and keep you informed about what’s coming up.

We are in a very busy period of national testing for Year 6 and 9, and I want to commend our students for their focus and resilience. They’ve truly shown their best efforts so far.

Alongside academic efforts, we’ve also had some exciting and engaging events. Our Student Care Team recently hosted a fun and inspiring Career Dress-Up Day in the Aula, where students had the chance to meet staff members showing them their career paths. Hopefully we inspired some students for their future plans! We have had guest speakers coming into school as well as Sundbyberg politicians visiting us.

This term has also been full of outdoor learning and enrichment. Many classes have taken advantage of the improving weather to hold lessons outside, and various trips and outings have provided valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom. We’re also excited to share that a new football goal has been installed on the pitch, and new break activity materials have been added to enhance students’ playtime options. Thanks to the Student Council’s input!

Via the Move With IES project, many lessons have started to have brain breaks in the lessons, which has been appreciated by the students. These upcoming weeks, the PE Department are taking students out on handball tournaments and football tournaments.

Our Year 9 students are actively planning for their Prom, and have been working hard on fundraising initiatives to make the event truly special. Thank you for supporting their efforts as they sell items and organize events to reach their goal.

Looking ahead, we have several key events coming up:

World Book Day – April 23rd
Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character, and there will be related activities taking place throughout the day. Please, drop by the Library and ask Ms Yap how to join in or speak to your mentor.

Academic Showcase & Spring Fair – May 21st 4:30-7pm.
This exciting day will highlight student learning and achievements on floor 4 and 5. Outside we will have a Spring Fair where the money goes to the students’ PTA accounts for further trips. A Talent show will be held and the students have already participated in auditions. The evening will also include our Intro Evening for new students and their families joining us next year—a great chance to welcome them into our community. Management and some staff members will be presenting information in the Aula.

As always, thank you for your continued support and involvement in school life. It’s a joy to see our students growing not only academically but also socially and personally inside and outside lessons. I am truly thankful to be working with passionate staff members that go the extra mile.

We look forward to sharing more successes with you soon. And if you want more weekly updates, please check out our Instagram or Facebook page.

Warm regards,
Mrs Bohlin, Principal
